Homework in Fourth Grade:
|
Reading: Each night your child should read for at least 20 minutes. Encourage them to read even more if possible. You can help by reading to them, or having them read to you. Ask them questions about the books they are reading too! Be sure your child logs their reading in their notebooks which are stored in their black homework folders.
Students can utilize our online reinforcements such as Reading Eggs and Lexia as much as possible! Math: Most nights a math workbook page or worksheet will be assigned. This is for students to have the opportunity to practice the skill that was focused on that day. Sometimes a worksheet that looks the same will be sent home multiple days in a row. They are different though-just focusing on the same concept so students can really master it! You can help your student by working with them or answering questions they may have! Basic math facts should also be studied as often as possible! Students need to master their multiplication facts so they can move into division! Students can utilize our online reinforcements such as First in Math, Xtra Math, and Front Rowed as much as possible! Spelling: Spelling tests will always be on Fridays. We pre-test Monday so they have all week to study and practice the words for the final test on Friday! Help your child by quizzing them, having them write them multiple times, discuss the meanings, etc! *Check your child's agenda nightly for any news or different homework or news that may be assigned! |
